Decisions Determine Destiny!
Decisions determine your destiny! They are life changing! Some decisions are more important than others. Some decisions that we make will change our whole life and will affect those around us. The most important decision you will ever make deals with where you will spend eternity when you die. All other decisions in life stem from this one.
The MOST important decision you will ever make...If you were to die today, where would you spend eternity?
The Bible tells us how we can know where we will spend eternity.
Hebrews 9:27, “...it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
The Scriptures speak of two final destinations for all of eternity - Heaven and Hell. Everyone will spend eternity in one or the other. Your eternal home comes down to one decision, and this decision will determine your eternity.
THINGS YOU MUST REALIZE TO MAKE THIS DECISION:
THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT EXISTS - You are a sinner.
Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Sin is missing GOD’S mark. It is anything that breaks GOD’S law - anything that is wrong to do. The Bible is right when we read that everyone has sinned. If your closest friend could read your mind, and know what your thoughts were during the past two weeks, you would be embarrassed for them to see what goes through your mind. We have a sin problem.
THERE IS A PAYMENT THAT EXISTS - Sin must be paid for
Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death...”
Just like breaking the law brings a payment, breaking GOD’s law brings a payment as well. The payment is death. In GOD’S eyes all are sinners, and when one dies he will face GOD with this problem of sin. At that moment of judgment, GOD will declare the sinner guilty, and the sinner will owe a payment. The payment will be to spend eternity in the lake of fire.
Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore-mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fi re and brimstone: which is the second death.”
It doesn’t matter what sin you committed, whether it was murder or telling a lie, there will be a payment to the holy GOD. We have a payment.
THERE IS A PERSON THAT EXISTS - JESUS CHRIST died in your place for your sins.
Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
CHRIST came to earth. HE was born of a virgin. HE never sinned because HE is GOD. HE lived a perfect life. HE did all of this, and much more, for one reason - YOU. HE came to die on the cross of Calvary for your sin debt. HE took your sins on HIMSELF.
II Corinthians 5:21, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin.” After our wonderful Saviour died for our sins, HE arose from the dead on the third day and lives forevermore.
THERE IS A PROMISE THAT EXISTS - All who receive CHRIST shall be saved.
Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Many people are confused and deceived about salvation. They have an idea that it will cost something to be saved, but the Bible teaches that salvation is a gift from GOD to the world.
Romans 6:23, “But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
JESUS paid it all when HE died on the cross for our sins. GOD promises us that salvation is a gift through the shed blood of CHRIST. No one has to die and go to Hell. Anyone can by faith, trust CHRIST as their personal Saviour and spend their eternity with HIM in Heaven.
You must decide to trust CHRIST as your personal Saviour, which will take you to Heaven. This is the greatest decision you will ever make. Without it, you have no hope of Heaven, and no hope of the abundant life here on earth. GOD desires to make you HIS child and change your life.
A decision MUST be made! LIFE BEGINS AT CALVARY
One cannot know true life until they have been saved by the grace of GOD. This one decision not only affects your eternal destination (Heaven or Hell), but it determines your life.
You have many decisions to make in life: school, friends, marriage, occupation, raising your children, among numerous others, but no decision is as important as this one. Will you make the decision today to receive CHRIST before it is too late? Decide right now to trust CHRIST as your personal Saviour, your only means of salvation.
Put away all other decisions, all other attempts to have a better life, all other efforts to get to Heaven, and trust CHRIST as your Salvation.
You can pray this simple prayer - It’s not the words of a prayer that save you, but your faith in CHRIST!
Dear GOD,
I know that I am a sinner. I know that I do not deserve Heaven. Thank you for sending CHRIST to die on the cross for my sins and for raising HIM from the dead. Please have mercy on my soul and save me. I am accepting CHRIST as my Salvation. I love you and thank you for saving me. Please help me to live for you. In JESUS name, Amen.
